There is another Robert Patrick Henry that was born in Missouri in the same year as our Robert P. Henry. (between 1829 and 1830) Our Robert Patrick Henry is definitely not the one who was buried in Oakley Cemetery, Benton County, Arkansas in 1909. Our Robert Patrick Henry's last known residence was in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma. An obituary of the Robert Patrick Henry from Kentucky who is buried in the Oakley Cemetery published at the time of his death can be seen at arkansasgravestones.org .
John HENRY b: 24 DEC 1781 in , Botetourt Co., VA ~ d: between 1850 and 1860 Buried: Sevier Co., TN Spouse: Sarah ______ b. in Virginia 1785 d. about 1852 Sevier Co., TN
John Henry was in the 1830 Sevier County, Tennessee census with his wife, Sarah, six sons, and two daughters. John and Sarah are found in the 1840 Census of Cole County, Missouri with two sons and one daughter. Other male Henrys who are the age of John Henry's sons as listed in the Sevier County, TN census of 1830, are found in Cole County, Missouri, in 1840 living near John Henry with their own families. They were: Joseph b. 1810, James b. 1815, and Anderson b. 1819. The two boys still living at home with John and Sarah in 1840 were born between 1820 and 1830.
When we look for the families of Anderson Henry b. 1819 and Joseph Henry, b. 1810 in later census reports, we find they have moved from Missouri to Benton County, Arkansas, and then to Montague County, Texas. Living near these Henrys in Arkansas and Texas are two other Henry men who were born in Sevier County, Tennessee and were living in Bentonville, Arkansas with land joining each other. These two were the age of the two sons that were living with John and Sarah Henry in 1840 whose names were not listed at that time. They are Overton Henry b. 1821 and Robert Patrick Henry b. 1829. John and Sarah Henry moved from Cole County, Missouri after the 1840 census and were back in Sevier County, Tennessee in 1850. Overton Henry married in 1842 in Cole County, Mo. and moved with his family to Platte County, Missouri, where he was living in 1850. Robert Henry is found near John and Sarah Henry in Sevier County, Tennessee in 1850, married with an infant child, Nancy, just a few months old.
John Henry and Sarah died a few years after the 1850 census was taken. Robert Patrick Henry and Overton Henry moved to Arkansas about that same time. Robert lived in Benton County, Arkansas, near Bentonville, when his first son, John Patrick, was born in 1852 and Overton's son, Andrew Jackson 'Jake' Henry was also born in Bentonville the same year. Anderson and Joseph Henry were living in Bentonville on property that joined the other Henrys at the same time as Overton and Robert.
After the death of his first wife, Rebecca Cowden - Henry, Robert Patrick Henry married Amanda Catherine Williams, who was 14 years younger than Robert. She was the daughter of David and Margaret Williams. Anderson H. Henry born in Missouri in 1837, son of Joseph Henry, married Amanda's sister, Sarah Elizabeth Williams. In the 1870s, several of the Henry families of Bentonville, Arkansas, moved to Montague County, Texas and other counties in Texas. Robert Patrick's son, Albert Marley was born in Montague, Texas in 1878. Overton lived in Lamar County, Texas which borders Oklahoma and is near Montague County which also borders Oklahoma. Robert Patrick Henry's family moved to Oklahoma about the turn of the century and lived in Ada, Pontotoc County, for a few years. It is believed that Robert Patrick died in that area. Robert Patrick's wife, Amanda is found living with her son, John Patrick Henry in Indian Territory in the 1910 and 1920 census. She and most of her sons and daughters later moved to Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Amanda Catherine, and her sons Marley, George, and Newton David are known to be buried in the Sardis Cemetery near Clayton, Oklahoma. Amanda Catherine is listed in the Sardis Cemetery online as Katherine Henry. Those who are without tombstones are not listed.
